“Amateur sports are primarily about love for yourself and your body, and athletic performance is a nice addition. Therefore, the main motivation is ourselves, ”said Kondrashev.

In his opinion, in order not to lose it, it is important to keep a sports diary where you can record your achievements, training and well-being.

“So you can clearly see the progress, monitor the volume and get additional motivation for future training,” the expert added.

Kondrashev also said whether it is possible to prepare for a marathon in self-isolation mode.

“In preparation for the marathon, one of the key stages is to increase the running volume (at least 60 km per month). Such a distance "run" in conditions of self-isolation is unrealistic. Therefore, now I propose not to prepare for the marathon, but to focus on physical fitness (general physical training), ”the trainer noted.

He emphasized that with good physical preparation when leaving the regime of self-isolation, it would already be possible to discuss with the coach preparations for a marathon or any other race.

Earlier, Kondrashev called effective exercises to maintain shape in self-isolation.

A psychologist, nutritionist and sports coach also told RT about measures that should help citizens spend time at home with comfort and benefit.
