Sharjah Sports Council and its clubs launched 17 different events and competitions remotely, in the holy month of Ramadan, after sports activity was interrupted due to adherence to preventive and precautionary measures to combat the emerging corona virus. It varies between sporting events and cultural competitions, sports and awareness lectures, and virtual Ramadan training and councils on social media accounts, which found a great response from players, their families, the public and residents, in a way that enhances the interconnection between clubs and society. Among these activities, the launch of Maliha Club "My competition at the table of knowledge and your old Nadim", in addition to the Madam Club competition "Know your country", and in turn, the Sharjah Chess Club presents a competition to recite and recite the Holy Qur’an for all chess players affiliated in the country clubs, while the Dibba Al-Hosn Club holds a competition Ramadan Hesnawi, and the Holy Quran Competition at Al Dhaid Club.
Al Hamriyah Club organizes two home creativity and knowledge competitions and various lectures. Khorfakkan Club for People with Disabilities also organizes Ramadan councils, while the Ramadan Sports Forum started for the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation and includes competitions and training workshops.
Kalba Club launched the Guiding Tips initiative, which includes sports, cultural, social, family, health and other advice, while Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club holds a Ramadan Council remotely, and in return, the Trust Club for the Disabled provides remote sports training alongside the Connect Without Borders initiative.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, said: Even during the period of stopping the sporting activity, the role of the clubs did not stop by continuing the work remotely, and the continuation of training for the players also from a distance with the follow-up of the coaches besides the administrative meetings, where Ramadan events are important for the clubs, which It plays its cultural and societal role, along with the athletic role, and organizes awareness, sports and cultural lectures, and launches competitions that invite the public to participate in it to communicate socially and consolidate relations with families and families.
He added: The Council also recently launched community sports activities during this month, including the virtual Ramadan and sports before breakfast, with the participation of various players, personalities, heads and members of club boards, in encouraging the public to practice sport and make it a daily lifestyle at home, and to confirm the leading role of the Council with its clubs in In this regard, providing targeted initiatives, which are also in line with the commitment to the current period and directives from the competent authorities.
