The Automobile Sports Association writes on its website that the chairman Lars Pettersson resigns with immediate distribution.

- Swedish car sports are facing many important issues in the future that we need to focus on throughout car sports Sweden. The recent discussions we have had in Swedish car sports have focused on the important future issues, which in the long term is not good for car sports Sweden or for the union. Against this background, my decision has grown to resign as chairman, Lars Pettersson tells the Motor Sports Association's website.

On April 15, SVT Sport was able to reveal that the entire Motor Sports Association's board of directors went to San Francisco to see the Indy car finals in 2019. The trip went to SEK 300,000 and was funded by the members' money.

Exceeded annual budget by SEK 570,000

Local unions demanded that the board resign and the union's auditor does not want to give discharge to the board.

The reason is alcohol notes and that the members had to pay for relatives to the board who accompanied the trip.

“We believe that there is a risk that the costs of the dinners with alcohol are disproportionate to the benefit of the members and may also be considered substantial. In light of this, the Board should ensure that there is a representation policy within the organization and that this is taken into account when representation is made, ”stated the auditor's criticism published by SVT yesterday.

The Board, including Secretary-General Anna Nordkvist, incurred expenses of more than SEK 40,000 per person during the US trip. Due to the expensive costs, the Board exceeded its own annual budget by approximately SEK 570,000.

SVT Sport has applied for Lars Pettersson, but without success.
