High-level athlete, professional athlete, federated athlete and amateur athlete. After two days of joint release, with the same rules for everyone, the athletes are divided this Monday into the four types marked by phase 0 of the De-escalation Plan. Some will have more training facilities than others, but in order to benefit from them, they must first be clear about which group they belong to. And there are doubts. Lots of doubts.

High-level athletes

The so-called DAN. They are, so to speak, the country's elite. In short, those who have achieved good results in the Olympic, World, European or other international competitions of any category in recent years. There are about 4,000 across the country. It is the Government, through the CSD, which establishes who is a high-level athlete and publishes their list. Here they would enter from Rafa Nadal to Sergio Llull passing by young people like María Vicente. Those who reside in a tax haven are not DAN, so, for example, golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez , who resides in the Dominican Republic , has not been granted this status .

Starting today, these athletes can train at any time, without a time limit, and only with a limit: they cannot leave their province. In addition, they can be accompanied by a coach or a guide in the case of the Paralympics, and access any natural area - sea, reservoirs, rivers - in which they must carry out their sports activity.

Professional sportsmen

The same benefits have professional athletes, but for this they need to be properly accredited as such. And that is not so easy. In Spain, to be considered a professional athlete, you need a labor contract with a club and that it has also registered you with Social Security. Only the contract with the club does not make any creditor athlete a professional. This rarity means that many references in individual disciplines, such as the tennis player Nadal or the golfer Jon Rahm , are not considered professional athletes in Spain, although they can have DAN accreditation (in this case, the first one does and the

second, not right now) .Federal sportsmen

Despite the clarity of the Official State Gazette (BOE), the confusion in the world is great in this section. The federated athletes have practically no benefit with the entry into force this Monday of phase 0 of the Plan of De-escalation. They must train in the established time frames (from 06.00 to 10.00 and from 20.00 to 23.00), they cannot leave their municipal area, they cannot be accompanied by their coach nor can they use a vehicle to go to their training area. In other words, they must comply with the same rules as amateur athletes with one exception: they can leave the house twice a day, not just once. Given the difficulty of controlling how many starts each athlete has made, in practice for the federated, the situation has hardly changed.

It must be taken into account that there are almost four million federated in Spain, including almost 100,000 in sports such as athletics or cycling, about 70,000 in swimming or about 50,000 in gymnastics.
