The EFD is adamant that the end of May-June is still a reasonable date to start Damallsvenskan. But Linköping already thinks that the start should be postponed for three reasons, which they submitted to EFD.

1. The club wants to be able to play training games at least three weeks before the start of the series.

- Theoretically, you can start anyway, but we can avoid it, says Unogård.

2. The team must be able to travel to away matches.

- There is still no clearing on that horizon for the public. Will elite clubs be exceptions to that recommendation?

3. You have to be able to return to a decent normal training day.

- We want to minimize time together indoors. To be able to have match reviews and match analyzes must be included if we are to have a normal competition activity. We must not end up in a situation where the clubs are in a dilemma to continue to be loyal to the recommendations or go against those guidelines to create sporting benefits.

- With this background we do not think that May 31 is a realistic date, but rather we believe that July 1 is a reasonable date.

Think the start of the series is postponed

The clubs are represented by a reference group that meets weekly with the EFD. According to Unogård, there is information that the reference group should take note of.

- Obviously you can have views on how often they update themselves in what the clubs think. There was a conference of presidents last week where it sounded like there was still a majority of clubs wanting to start May 1, which we know is not true.

Do you think the premiere will be pushed on further?

- I think so. There seems to be a majority for that now.

The reference group meets during the day, but there is no information about whether a possible move of the start date will be discussed already.

- We listen to what the Public Health Agency is saying and of course we need a start distance of a few weeks before we can get started. We are currently planning for different scenarios, with different start dates, ”says Piteå's chairman Rikard Fahlman, one of the representatives in the reference group.
