Figure skating enthusiasts created a petition in defense of Evgenia Medvedeva, addressed to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR). The authors accused the Russian media of allegedly stalking an athlete. At the moment, the appeal to stop the "dissemination of false information" has gained more than 1000 signatures.
The fact is that in early April, Medvedev came to Japan to prepare for the Prism on Ice show, where she was to play the main role. Upon arrival, she sat in quarantine for two weeks, after which she posted a video on which she performed a fragment of her free program on the lawn in the park.
One of the Japanese Twitter users wrote that the athlete allegedly violated the quarantine regime and because of her even had to close the local ice rink. According to the petition, there were other single entries on the network from accounts that were allegedly later deleted. Following this, a number of publications reported that local residents opposed her stay in the country. According to the authors of the appeal, such publications are a public humiliation of the skater.
Medvedev herself did not react to what happened, but closed the comments on Instagram.
Honorary President of the FFKKR Valentin Piseev expressed bewilderment over the statement of the Japanese.
“Some single fans demand to expel Medvedev from Japan. But she has a much larger number of supporters ... I understand when the Russians begin to suspect in the spirit of “she’s probably riding there during the pandemic,” but why do the Japanese reason like that? ”RIA Novosti quotes Piseeva.

You can make a brand that will not be for fans of a particular skater, but simply for fans of this sport. But the initial collection will be more connected with me, ”Tuktamysheva shared on VKLive.

“There is inspiration. I still write poetry.
