The Kuwaiti Football Association announced the day before yesterday, that it intends to resume the current season of the local league next September, to reach its last stop on the first of October, and that is to obtain a green light from the health authorities before taking practical steps.

The football activity in the country has stopped since last March due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, when Kuwait was leading the league standings with 30 points from 13 games, against Al-Qadisiyah, the second with the same balance of 14 games, with four stages remaining at the end of the season.

The president of the Federation’s Competitions Committee, Fahd Al-Hamlan, revealed the plan to resume the activity, in an official statement on the official page of the federation on Twitter, saying, “Based on the AFC speech through which it is requested to set the date for the resumption of the sports season 2019-2020, the Kuwaiti Federation decided to specify Next September 11 as the date for the resumption of competitions.

Al-Hamlan, who is also a member of the Federation's board of directors, explained that the resumption of activity will be through a postponed match between Kuwait and Al-Nasr within the league competition.

"After that, 4 rounds remain at the end, and the federation has already set its dates, with the last round taking place on October 1," he added.

Concerning the Prince Cup competition, the quarter-finals competition will take place from October 17, with the semi-finals being held on the 22nd of it, while the final match date will be determined later.

Al-Hamlan stressed that "the Kuwaiti Federation will abide by the decisions of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health regarding the safety of athletes in the event that the activity is not allowed to resume during that period," that is, in September.
