The Egyptian artist Hisham Selim, son of the president of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club, Saleh Selim, revealed the opinion of his father in the current president of the club, Mahmoud El-Khatib.
Salim said in an interview with "Sheikh Al-Hara" program, Salih Salim said of Al-Khatib that he was "an unclear man."
He added: "After I heard this saying from great values like Saleh Selim, I was not in favor of Khatib's candidacy to head the largest club in Egypt, and I announced my position on him, which exposed me to a strong attack from the masses that prompted me to close my accounts on social media."
Hisham Selim denied that he was banned from entering Al-Ahly Club because of his declared position on Al-Khatib.
He explained: "No one can prevent me from entering the club. I am a working member and I have the right to enter Al-Ahly any time I want."
The Egyptian artist announced that the former head of the Al-Ahly club, Hassan Hamdi, was refusing to implement Saleh Selim's request before his death to extract him the club membership without a clear reason for that.
He stated: "My father agreed, after many years of his being in the club’s chair, to extract a Karni membership for the club, and when he asked Hassan Hamdi that request was delayed until my father traveled abroad and died."
He concluded: "When club president Mahmoud Taher learned about the incident, he immediately ordered the extraction of Karniya and became a member of the club, and since that event I have respected this man and I consider it the most appropriate for the presidency of Al-Ahly."
Hisham Selim admitted that there were people who betrayed the maestro and their betrayal appeared to him after his death, so I do not respect them now and will not extend my hand to them in the future.
He concluded: "The maestro had confidence in Hassan Hamdi for long periods, but in his last days his confidence did not continue in him, but Hassan Hamdi remains one of the symbols of the club who have made great achievements during his time in the presidency."
