The German Football Association (DFL) announced on Monday that the first round of screening tests for infection of the newly created Corona virus in the first and second division clubs, which wished to resume competitions in May, revealed 10 positive cases.
The association explained that out of 1724 examinations conducted in the 36 clubs (18 in each grade), 10 were positive, without revealing any details regarding the location of the cases and even the identity of the injured persons. According to the laws in force in Germany, every person who has been in contact with a positive situation has to adhere to a fourteen-day isolation period.
The new cases would draw a big question mark about the resumption of the German league, which the association had hoped for on the 15th of this month.
On Monday, the German Interior Ministry confirmed that football could not be subject to the rules in force.
"Horst Seehofer (the minister of the interior) respects his words. People who have been in positive contact should adhere to a fourteen-day isolation period," said Home Office spokesman Stephen Alter.
"This principle applies to the entire population, and there is no reason for the law to be different for footballers."
On Friday, Colin announced that there were three positive cases in his ranks, two players in addition to a physicist, before the rest of the team was put in stone in a hotel. .
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold a meeting with the heads of the 16 German states tomorrow, Wednesday, to decide the fate of the league.
