China News Service, May 3 (ITF) The International Tennis Federation (ITF) recently announced the first edition of the "Return to Tennis Courts" tournament epidemic prevention guide, which prohibits all handshake, showers, and signatures.

The ITF said in the announcement that this version of the guide is currently only applicable to non-international events and aims to provide a behavioral framework recommendation to ensure that tennis events can be successfully restarted without the infection of the new crown virus.

In this version of the guide, ITF recommends that players arrive on time before the game, wear neatly and start the game directly, and leave immediately after the game without showering; only singles games are allowed; players and technical officials should maintain a distance of at least 2 meters; Have any physical contact (including handshake after the game); when exchanging venues, both parties should face each other on both sides of the venue; before the game, the two players should mark the ball for the game, and the players should use their own balls; Share any supplies, such as rackets, towels, kettles, etc.

In addition, the guide has suggestions for spectators, participating member associations, technical officials, and competition staff.

The ITF stated that this version of the guidelines is based on the World Health Organization's recommendations regarding the holding of events. The ITF also emphasized that following the guidelines does not mean that the risk of infection is zero. Any consideration should be based on the decision of the local government. Whether it is an official competition or an exhibition competition, it must be waited for the local government to relax the epidemic control measures. The anti-epidemic guide for international competitions will be launched on a selective basis. (Finish)
