“Today, from the Ministry of Sports, we are ready to contribute to the completion of the championship, but with clear guarantees that the possibility of illness for athletes and coaches will be excluded,” RIA Novosti quoted Matytsina as saying.
According to him, requests for conditions for the organizers of the matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL) to resume the championship have already been sent to Rospotrebnadzor. He noted that the organization, in turn, will have to provide guarantees for the fulfillment of the conditions.
“If in the near future in May we agree on this, if there is no categorical ban on the part of both federal and regional regulatory bodies, and if we get approval from the relevant authorities on the entry of foreign athletes and their quarantine, then, probably, the competition will be maybe, ”added Matytsin.
RPL, like most world football championships, was suspended due to coronavirus. At the time of the stop, 22 out of 30 rounds were played.
Earlier, the Honorary President of the Russian Football Union Vyacheslav Koloskov expressed the opinion that there is enough time to make a decision on the completion or resumption of the RPL season.
