The reigning world champion Ståhl's plan is to make a seasonal debut in Växjö in a couple of weeks.

- It will be May 23 on Växjö's ground floor. I suspect we can start competing in Sweden again in a couple of weeks, ”says Ståhl.

The Swedish Athletics Association will hold a meeting on competitions during the corona crisis on May 15. Right now only youth competitions, children up to the age of 18, are allowed with strict safety rules. Ståhl and trainer Vesstein Hafsteinsson keep their thumbs up to give it green light for senior level competitions.

- The plan from the beginning was to start the season at the Bauhaus Gala on May 24, and we hope to be stuck at that time. He is in good physical shape but needs more stability in the throw. We decide when it will debut together, says Hafsteinsson.

The Bauhaus Gala in Stockholm is postponed. But in Oslo you keep your Diamond League date June 11 but the competition is very stripped down with rigorous safety regulations "Impossible Games". Only Swedish and Norwegian practitioners will be present at Bislett's stadium and many branches will be at odd distances.

Hotel in Sweden before Oslo's gala

However, not the discus that will have a normal format, but only with three throwers in the starting field. The Swedish participants will stay in hotels in Strömstad and then drive by car directly to Oslo, and after the competition has ended they will return directly to the hotel to escape the Norwegian quarantine in 14 days.

- It will be great fun to compete again. It is just to compete as usual and follow the Norwegian rules, it is no more remarkable than that, says Ståhl about the different arrangement.

With so much set (Olympics and European Championships); what are you aiming for this season?

- As long as Sweden is open and you can practice as usual and keep the motivation up for throwing really far this summer, even if there is no championship. As it looks right now, only SM and Finnkampen are left and it is just thundering and throwing far.

I know you usually measure on training. Have you got any really long throws away?

- Yes, but it has become some really long throws.

How far then about?

- Yes, very far.

And how far is very far, now I get curious?

- Yes, it is far, so it is.

Over the world record (74.08) or beyond?

- Long, says Ståhl, marking that the hearing may now be over, but sends with a message:

- We should be cheerful and happy and should not dig down and be depressed and sad about what is going on right now where the whole world has set up lots of events, says Ståhl.
