It was Finance Minister Per Bolund (the Environment Party) who said at today's press conference that the support also includes sports associations and non-profit associations. To qualify for the support, the company or association needs annual sales of more than SEK 250,000 and a loss of sales of more than 30 percent during March and April. The support is based on fixed costs where the maximum compensation is SEK 150 million for an individual company.

The Football Hall Swede would have started earlier in April and Lars-Christer Olsson, chairman of Sef, is delighted with the proposal that could benefit all Swedish clubs.

- It is very positive because we are severely affected because the season would have started earlier in April and the Swedish Cup would have ended, says Lars-Christer Olsson and continues:

- Our clubs build their business on the fact that they raise money during the summer half-year. For a professional football club, the hardest time right before the start of the series is because you are running out of cash. For the sake of liquidity, this is incredibly important.

"Large sums"

The National Sports Federation (RF) has already received a crisis package of SEK 500 million. The money is not distributed, but it is clear that children's and youth sports will be given priority. With today's message, elite clubs in football and ice hockey, for example, can receive part of the crisis package if the proposal goes through the Riksdag.

- I think this can mean a lot. What is happening now is that support packages other than those just aimed at sports are becoming more and more. Lost income is something that characterizes several of the major players in sports, says RF's chairman Björn Eriksson to SVT Sport.

How much help can this be, do you think?

- This supplement may be because breathing works longer, but then it depends on how long the corona pandemic lasts. It is clear if such support will come, it does matter. You can now take advantage of the layoff support, deferred tax and so this proposal. If you put everything together, it will be quite large sums in the end.
