Vincenzo Spadafora said that the way is beginning to "narrow more and more", regarding the resumption of league matches, advising those involved in the game to shift their focus towards preparing for the next season.
In an interview with Channel 7, Spadafora said: "I see a path that is getting narrower more and more about the league's resumption. If I were the club heads, I would think specifically about organizing things for a safe return next season, which is scheduled to start at the end of August. ”
He added: "The decisions taken by other countries, such as France, may lead Italy to adopt this approach as well, after which it becomes a European approach."
The French Prime Minister, Eduard Philippe, had announced that the 2019-2020 season could not be resumed, and that meant the necessity of stopping the French League.
Certainly, any similar scenario will not have the support of Lazio, and its president, Claudio Loteto, who has repeatedly expressed his desire to resume the season, especially since his team has the opportunity to win the league title for the first time since the 1999-2000 season, since he was second only by a point Juventus, the defending champion, after 26 of the 38 stages, before the decision to suspend the season was taken on the ninth of March as a result of the outbreak of «Covid-19».
In light of the uncertainty, the 1915 scenario became a bane for Lazio, as it denied the capital team at the time the attempt to win the title, after the league stopped as a result of entering the country in World War I in May of that year.
The title then went to Genoa, in a move that Lazio considered unfair, because the two teams should have shared the coronation, since the season did not end.
Lazio was forced until 1974 to enter the Champions Club, then in 2000 to add a second title.
Given the level he was providing before the suspension of the season, Lazio appears to be able to add a third title, if game and government officials come up with a formula to resume the season.
