The 34-year-old World Cup driver has had his base in Andorra in recent years. Now packing and long journey by car to Poland awaits. Once there, Lindgren must be quarantined at a hotel for two weeks before he can start driving the speedway.
- I haven't actually run the speedway since the World Cup final in Torun last year, he reveals.
But do not worry about any rust.
- I'm not worried at all. In recent years I have become more and more easily trained.
Lindgren has been quarantined in Spain where he became trapped due to the corona pandemic. The training camp in Marbella was not at all what he imagined.
- I did a lot of workout on the cross bike and some cycling. Now it is only time to arrive on time until May 8, when all drivers must be in Poland.
Lindgren chose to leave the Swedish elite series after strongly contributing to two of the smiths' three straight SM golds. This is to be able to focus on Poland and to run for a first World Cup title.
- I have no idea what's going on with the World Cup series. I'll get to the World Cup when that day comes. Right now, all focus on the league premiere is June 12.
