It is the site of inside games that has taken note of the letter that the International Handball Federation, IHF, has sent to the International Olympic Committee, IOK.

- Thanks to IHF's healthy financial situation, we have responded to the IOC to provide support to the associations that have been more severely affected by the corona virus, IHF writes.

The support package is distributed to international branch associations that have been in financial straits due to the corona situation. Handball won a profit of just over SEK 68 million in 2019 and has thus chosen to refuse the financial support package.

According to insider games, IHF is the first Olympic branch association to refuse the money and instead wants the IOC to direct its support to more needy federations.

The IHF will not lay off or terminate staff during the corona crisis.

It was last week that the Olympic branch associations were asked by the IOC if they are in need of financial support. In normal cases, the unions receive a large amount of money after the Olympic Games have been carried out, but since the Tokyo Olympics were moved up to 2021, many unions have weakened the economy.
