The hypothesis of resuming Ligue 1 behind closed doors, compromised

UEFA's decision to postpone Euro-2020 in the summer of 2021 had opened up new possibilities for the calendar for the soccer championships to end, once the health risks linked to the coronavirus pandemic had been removed football stopped at the end of March. But the hypothesis favored by the Professional Football League (LFP), namely to resume Ligue 1 on June 17 in camera, and finish it on July 25, now seems very compromised by the Prime Minister's announcements.

This scenario had the advantage of giving players at least four weeks of physical preparation, the minimum time estimated by specialists, in the event of resumption of training during the week of May 11. He also stuck to the wishes of UEFA, which hopes to see the national championships come to an end this summer, before completing European competitions in August, at the cost of a busy schedule.
