With the coronavirus pandemic, a huge market for protection against microbes has been created. Now you can buy stickers that remove microorganisms. They are glued on a door handle or on a switch and they permanently disinfect the surface.
It's like transparent tape. We stick it on a door handle, a switch, the touch screen of our phone ... in short, on everything we used to fiddle with every day. And it will permanently destroy all the microbes that could develop there. There is even a version to spray when there is no flat surface, for example for keyboards, steering wheels or telephone handsets. This will limit the transfer of germs and viruses. And avoid spending your time disinfecting everything. In fact, these products already existed in the food industry to guarantee hygiene, or in the medical against nosocomial infections. The novelty is that they are now available for the general public by startups like Blue Flowers. Anyone can buy and stick them themselves, without going through a specialist.
And it remains effective for how long?
On average, around 5 years. But some films can remain active for up to 20 years. By fighting 24/24 against viruses like gastro, flu or staphylococci. Note, however, that they are not destroyed instantly. Sometimes you have to wait several tens of minutes. So that doesn't mean you don't have to wash your hands.
And do we know if it's effective against the Covid-19?
A priori yes, since they have been tested on other coronaviruses. But we are not sure, for a simple reason: all strains of the virus are now reserved for medical research. So we haven't been able to test them on the Covid-19 yet. But that should not be long.
