The money is taken from Uefa's solidarity fund HatTrick. Funds from this will usually cover some costs for the unions or be earmarked for sanctioned projects in domestic football.
Under prevailing, strained conditions for many unions during the corona pandemic, Uefa has decided that each union may use the money at its own discretion.
“Our sport is facing unforeseen challenges because of the covid 19 crisis. Uefa wants to help its members to meet these in ways that are best adapted to specific circumstances. ”, Uefa chairman Aleksander Ceferin said in a press release.
