Fifa (the International Football Association) has now come up with an official proposal and the next step is to have it approved by IFAB, which is responsible for the regulations in football. If they approve, all serial organizations may decide whether or not to implement the temporary rule.

"Each team would have the opportunity to use up to five bytes per match with the possibility of adding additional bytes during the extension," the proposal says according to Reuters.

In such cases, the changes would be made on a maximum of three different occasions in addition to the half-time break.
