It is the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) that has sentenced punishment to several riders in the distance race, writes Dagens Nyheter and the newspaper Ridsport.

Said al-Balushi from Oman is suspended for three years and has to pay just fine after his horse Kekmader tested positive for arsenic. The toxic element can improve endurance and strengthen the muscles of horses and is therefore doping rated.

Also a sample from another of al-Balushi's horses in a competition a week later contained traces of arsenic.

The distance race is not an Olympic branch, but is on the rise in the Middle East, in particular. The competitions are huge endurance tests with distances up to 160 kilometers.

Two more riders, from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, are suspended for two years each, as their horses have shown traces of anabolic steroids.

The FEI also shuts down Rashed Hamoud Humaid al-Junaib, United Arab Emirates, for repeatedly violating the rules of his horse's weight in his reins on his horse for 8 Minute and thus being tormented.

The incident during the President's Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year received a lot of attention and now the verdict falls - three months of suspension and 20,000 SEK in fines.

22-year-old al-Junaib, who won the big race 2018 with the same horse, used a sharp bite to the horse, which since the incident last year has been banned by FEI.
