It was in the middle of the playoffs with Malmö in March 2019 that Dan Beutler got stuck in a doping test with cocaine in his blood. The goalkeeper had just signed on for Danish GOG but the contract was broken and he was sentenced to 15 months suspension, a penalty which was later reduced to 12.

Last winter he signed on a contract season with Malmö but the corona pandemic, which stopped all play, prevented Beutler from playing for the club. Now it will be a continuation since the club chose to extend.

- I have an incredible drive and desire to play handball again. When my addiction took the handball away from me, it created an even greater hunger and drive, Beutler tells Aftonbladet.

Beutler will form goalkeeper pair with Anton Hellberg.
