The Dutch Football Association announced that the local league competitions will not likely be completed, after the local government decided to extend the ban on major events until September 1 due to the Corona virus.

And while the European Union demanded yesterday to end the season in the European championships, the Dutch Federation issued a statement saying, "The professional football committee intends not to complete the competition for the 2019-2020 season. The Dutch association will consult with the European Union before taking any decision in this regard." Noting that Clubs and competent authorities will meet on Friday to discuss this matter.

And if the attendees agree to stop the league for the 2019-2020 season permanently, the Dutch League becomes the first tournament to end its activities. Its neighbor, Belgium, may follow suit on Monday when the local government announces the procedures.

The continental union issued a "solid recommendation" in order to complete the local competitions in the continental championships, which were suspended due to the new Corona virus, but without setting a timetable for their resumption.

But the European Union for the game left the door open to some special cases that will be studied when a perception is reached regarding participation in European competitions with regard to canceled tournaments "in a hint to the Belgian championship that may not resume its activities.
According to the statement issued by the Dutch Federation, the establishment of Matches behind closed doors are not possible because they are considered events that require the approval and presence of the police.

"There will be no professional football matches until September 1," said a statement from the Dutch Football Association.

The Dutch league has stopped in its first and second round since March 12. The stoppage in the first stage ended on April 6, before it was extended to June 1.

There were eight stages left after the end of the Dutch league when it stopped, which is led by Ajax Amsterdam, on goal difference from any uniform Alkmaar.

The extension to the major events ban was to draw a big question mark about the Dutch ASN award in Moto GB, the Formula One race in Zandvoort and the Netherlands Cycling Championship.
