The Ambassador of the DP World, British golf star Ian Poulter, returns to the racing world today, but this time away from the golf courses, where he will participate in the Virtual World Cup Formula 1, through the Shanghai Grand Prix in China.

The Ryder Cup legend will drop the golf club to hold the steering wheel alongside its partner, test driver Guanyu Chu of the Renault DP team, on a difficult track at the Shanghai International Circuit, which includes 28 courses on a path of 5,551 km.

The pair return the same squad that participated in the first virtual Grand Prix race in Bahrain last March. Cho, who won the Bahrain title, is looking forward to his second win.

Both drivers will participate in the race through their simulators, and they will face a variety assortment that includes a number of current and former Formula 1 drivers, young drivers program members and a number of celebrities.

The ninth race will be held at Emirates time, and it is expected to continue for an hour and a half, and includes a qualifying period according to which the drivers' positions in the race will be determined according to the fastest time during which the drivers finish the course.

Drivers participate in the race remotely, and the competitions are broadcast on the official website of Formula 1, «F1.com», as well as the site’s channels on “YouTube”, “Twitch and WIPO” and “Facebook”.
