- The focus is on how we link this to children and youth, which is the most important part, says the Swedish Sports Federation's (RF) chairman Björn Eriksson to SVT Sport.

Can you give an answer to how much goes to elite versus breadth business?

- I cannot answer it today, because it is an application procedure. In 2-3 weeks I can give you a better guess.

Applications from 1 May

Earlier today, it was clear that the money will be distributed around midsummer. From May 1, you will be able to apply for the support package.

- The applications will be divided into two different pots. We make a pot for special sports associations, for these big events. Then we make a pot for the local associations, who apply directly to us.

After today's presentation from the Minister of Sports, RF and the special sports associations had another meeting regarding the distribution of the money. And there it was stated that the more than 70 covenants agree that RF should manage the distribution completely without the covenants' participation.

- There is no wish whatsoever from the covenants to have any fingers in that jam jar. You would rather join us and scold us for having done a bad job than want to join in and raise money for them, and I think this is healthy, says Björn Eriksson to SVT Sport.

The reason why special unions have come to the conclusion that RF should take care of the entire distribution for sports is because there must be equal rules that apply throughout the sports movement.

- We got the money from the government only yesterday and it has probably meant that we have been able to work together and have a common sense about how we distribute the money. Because when we started seeing it there were very different opinions.

Should the corona crisis continue into the second half of the year, the Sports Federation will apply for more money.

- Should the corona crisis be prolonged, in the fall, we will not exclude anything. We are in for a dialogue with the National Sports Federation, says Sports Minister Amanda Lind to SVT Sport.
