The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) said in a report that the European Football Association (UEFA) is studying a proposal to hold the remainder of the Champions League for a week as a mini-championship, with the final match being on August 29 in Istanbul.

Most football tournaments around the world have stopped due to an outbreak of the Coruna virus, with the largest leagues in Europe and the Champions League being halted in the mid-16 rounds.

The report indicated that UEFA wanted the European League final on August 26 in Gdansk, Poland, and three days later the Champions League final.

UEFA is studying two options, one of which will be the quarter-finals and the semi-finals, with the return and return system in July and August, and this will be possible only with the resumption of the local championships in June.

The second option is to hold the rest of the Champions League with one match system after the end of the local championships for one week.

The BBC explained in the report that the Executive Committee of UEFA discussed the two options at its meeting on Thursday.

The Champions League final was to be held in Istanbul on May 30, with the European League final being completed three days earlier.
