It is understood that the 2021 World Championships in Athletics was originally scheduled to be held in Eugene, Oregon, USA from August 6 to 15. However, after the International Olympic Committee and the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee announced the extension of the Tokyo Olympics, the IAAF expressed its willingness to "make way" for the Tokyo Olympics and postpone the World Championships.
On March 30, the International Olympic Committee, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee, and the Japanese government jointly announced that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was forced to be delayed due to the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, will be held from July 23 to August 8 in 2021. (Finish)
