  • BLMA, the Montpellier women's vice-champion basketball club in Montpellier, faces the Covid-19 in a virtual match played in the Medical Arena (also virtual).
  • "Spectators" are invited to buy their place for one euro on the club website until May 10.
  • All the funds raised will be donated to the nursing staff of the Montpellier University Hospital via the Guilhem Fund, an endowment fund created by the health establishment.

BLMA basketball players (Lattes-Montpellier) are stopped like all other amateur and professional clubs in France. In their own way, they nevertheless decided to get involved in the fight against the coronavirus. The Euroleague quarter-finalists organize a virtual match against the Covid-19.

The entry price of this virtual opposition organized in the “Medical Arena” (also virtual) is fixed at one euro. "Internet users can reserve 1, 3, 5, 10.15 places depending on the donation desired," said the club. Tickets can be purchased until May 10 at the club ticket office. All the funds raised will be donated to the Guilhem foundation.

Already 30,000 euros collected for medical staff via the Guilhem fund

This endowment fund created by the CHU de Montpelier has been welcoming a kitty since March 20, the amount of which will be donated to the nursing staff and patients of the Covid-19. "The objective is to fill the Medical Arena to collect the maximum amount of money for the benefit of the Guilhem Foundation," recalls the BLMA. It supports the nursing staff of the Montpellier CHU who are on the front line and who do everything in their power to defeat COVID-19. As of April 8, nearly 30,000 euros have already been collected.

Created three years ago, the Guilhem fund contributes to the actions of the Montpellier University Hospital in terms of innovation and public health. "It is a private law, non-profit structure, independent of the CHU but created by the CHU to receive donations, legacies and donations of all kinds," explains the health establishment. It therefore constitutes a guarantee of proper use of the funds paid, in complete financial transparency. "
