Those who have signed up for this year are now given a choice. Either to participate in a virtual race that is seed-based before 2021, to move its starting place to 2021 or simply to donate its starting fee to the Shipyard. Management hopes that many will choose the last option to secure the race's future.

- You have the opportunity to become a "Gothenburg shipyard hero" and always be in our hearts, says Jahja Zeqiraj.

By April 12, runners must report. And how they choose can be crucial.

"The economy is hard-working for the union," says Jahja Zeqiraj.

The Gothenburg shipyard has annual sales of around SEK 60 million and generates SEK 20 million for the district's athletics associations. The fact that this year's race, which would have passed on May 16, was canceled means a major financial breakdown, so large that the 2021 edition of the race could be threatened.

- That risk is obvious and we try to adapt to the situation that is in these corona times. The economic situation, regardless of what happens in the future, is very precarious and we will need to take action. We can return to that, says Jahja Zeqiraj
