On March 22, SVT Sport revealed that Stina Nilsson is switching cross country skiing to biathlon and now she has won a place in the A-national team in her new sport.
- We know that she has a very large riding capacity and I do not think she made this change if she did not discover that she has a talent for shooting, says Ekholm.
The biathlon team has expanded the A-national team with two development sites - one of which Nilsson has received. She will have an individualized program focusing on the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
- She is such a good rider that she places. And the arrangement that she doesn't take anyone's place makes sense, says Ekholm who believes that Nilsson has several qualities that make her a good biathlete.
- She has this winning instinct. Then, most skiers don't think it's so fun to wear, but Stina likes it, and it's very good when learning to shoot.
Nilsson will be trained by Swiss Jean-Marc Chabloz.
