Two wins stood between Liverpool and an extremely long-awaited Premier League title when the corona virus put an end to virtually all European top football in March. Two wickets in a season where Liverpool led by 25 points ahead of Manchester City after 28 innings.

- They have won everything else, the Champions League ... But just the league, there is some curse that rests. And most importantly what's happening now, you don't know if they can play ready or not, says Glenn Hysén, who was on the team that won the club's last league title in 1990.

- It's absolutely incredible. Had someone said it then, that Liverpool will not win the league in 30-35 years, then I would have just laughed and shook my head. It's not on the world map.

Close to winning in 2014

In 2014 it was close to Liverpool winning but with two rounds left, captain Steven Gerrard slipped and gave away the league title to Manchester City.

Now no one knows how, or if, the season should end and the resignation is evident in Liverpool.

- It was a reasonable decision (to stop the matches, ed. Note). But we have been waiting for 30 years and hope they do the right thing and give us the league title, says a supporter.

"It's a billion things"

However, Hysén believes that the situation is complicated.

- It is difficult when you have not played clearly. I don't think anyone would say anything about it (in case Liverpool gets the title, ed. Amn). On the other hand, there are problems at the bottom, those who have to leave or those who have to go up. It is a billion things, after all.
