The season in the National Hockey League is still paused due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hockey stars in the USA and Canada are forced to while away time at home, observing quarantine. Fans can only watch what their idols, forced to live without sports, do in such a difficult time.

Alexander Ovechkin as one of the main symbols of the NHL is riveted special attention. Forward “Washington Capitals” is locked at home in the US capital with his wife Anastasia Shubskaya and son Sergei. Nevertheless, news about his life continues to come with the same frequency as in the midst of the regular season.

So, Ovechkin during the time of self-isolation managed to star in the new video of the singer Olga Buzova. For this, however, he did not have to leave the walls of his house. He appeared for a few seconds in the video for the song “Let's Stay Home”. In it, the hockey player is captured in a home environment with his family. In addition to Ovechkin, several other Russian athletes appeared in the video - football players Pavel Pogrebnyak, Alexander Samedov, Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Interestingly, this is not the first experience of cooperation between Ovechkin and Buzova. The Stanley Cup holder has already starred in the video for the song “Champions”, and then his role was a little more significant - he posed in the sweater of the Russian team on the ice platform.

The other day, Ovechkin appeared for the second time on the cover of the American fashion magazine DC Modern Luxury - the first was in 2016. The magazine organized a photo session for Ovechkin and published a short article with a short interview.

The attacker said that if he could return to the past, he would tell himself to enjoy every minute. According to him, the best thing in his life was the advice to think about the family first. The most insane act Ovechkin called bathing in the fountain after winning the Stanley Cup. He also admitted that in ten years he wants to be on the beach.

In addition, Ovechkin answered several questions on the Men's Journal YouTube channel. So, he admitted that he recently was close to crying after watching the melodrama "Diary of Memory."

“I’m not that I cried, but I felt a lump coming up to my throat. I looked at Nastya, she was crying. And I thought that I needed to do something, somehow distract myself, ”Sport-Express quotes Ovechkin.

The hockey player also told how he can get his wife out. It turned out that the wife can not stand when the hockey player is interested in video games.

“Nastya just hates it when I play some games on my phone before going to bed. This pisses her off ... But it’s not that I am attached to these things - I just like computer games, ”Ovechkin admitted.

About his one and a half year old son, Ovechkin said that he was already teaching him to use a stick and a puck, but due to his age, little Sergei still did not succeed.

“He just loves putting something on a stick and gets very angry when it falls. I show him how to handle the puck. He immediately begins to smile. I give him a club to try, but he can’t keep his balance and balance. He immediately begins to cry, ”said the hockey player.

Ovechkin did not forget to tell about the players who were most struck when he ended up in the NHL. There were three of them at once.

“The first is Jaromir Jagr. He started playing at 17 and is still doing it. Joe Thornton and Zdeno Hara. They are already 40 years old, and they are also still in shape - they show good hockey. This is amazing, ”admitted the captain of Washington.

Interestingly, one of his idols Ovechkin circumvented in an NBC poll, in which fans were asked to determine the best goalscorer in NHL history. The Russian hockey player took first place, passing not only Jagr, but also Brett Hull, Marc Monsieur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Phil Esposito and Gordy Howe.

At the moment, it is not known when Ovechkin will be able to confirm his new “title” and return to the ice with the rest of the NHL players. The situation should become clearer after the meeting of US President Donald Trump with the leaders of the North American professional leagues, which is scheduled for April 4. The season in the NHL has not yet been canceled, and fans have the hope that the new Stanley Cup winner will still be determined.
