Sports medicine doctors have issued warnings of a hasty return to competitions, amid an outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19).

Most reports indicate that officials in major leagues are seeking to complete the remaining matches of this season, with the aim of avoiding huge financial losses in the event of canceling the season.

The decision to resume matches is linked to obtaining a green light from the health authorities in each country, a move that seems unlikely at the present time because of the record numbers of injuries and deaths recorded in a number of European countries.

The most optimistic estimates indicate that the confrontations of the major patrols may resume after the middle of next May, but a number of doctors have had another opinion.

The president of the Association of Athletic Physicians in Italy, Enrico Castellcci, said that players recovering from the Coruna virus must undergo in-depth tests before returning to the competition.

In a press release carried by the French "RMC" website, Castelache said that it was too early to talk about a date for the resumption of matches, and he said that the Corona virus could have a heart level effect.

For his part, Laurent Lausanne, a cardiologist, who is a reference for many athletes in France, talked about the slight possibility that players recovering from Corona will experience heart complications, but that does not prevent them from being subjected to accurate checks before the competition resumes.
