Last year's all-Swedish third Hammarby has decided to short-term leave all his staff, including players and leaders in the men's team.

This is what the football club writes on its website.

The measure is taken to alleviate the hard-working economy that has been the result of the ongoing corona crisis. However, the short-term leave does not apply to "staff and leaders in Hammarby IF Football Association's operations", the club announces.

"Followed the trend"

“We have, of course, followed the development of the corona virus and see that this will have clear financial consequences for us. It is too early to draw any exact conclusions about how much this will affect us financially, but the business is basically on pause now and then we adapt our organization to that situation, "says Hammarby's CEO Henrik Kindlund.

Kindlund adds that Hammarby has "control of cash flow" and that the players in the men's A-team have agreed to waive around 50 percent of their salaries until the summer - money that they will get back.

For Hammarby's midfielder David Fällman, it was a matter of course to set up.

- I can only speak for myself, but I know that we are very united and happy that we can help in this way.

- If the club comes up with something that can help it out of the storm, we are players in it, says the 30-year-old.

"A tough location"

Fällman adds:

- We are pleased with how we can help and that we are all moving in the same direction. Now it is important to extinguish fires. That's what we do, you have to be a little here and now and take everything as it comes.

In addition to Hammarby, the following clubs in allsvenskan have laid down parts of their organization: AIK, Falkenberg, Häcken, Elfsborg, Malmö, IFK Gothenburg, IFK Norrköping, Kalmar FF, Mjällby, Örebro, Östersund, Helsingborg, Sirius and Varberg.

The only club that has not taken a similar action is the Swedish champion club Djurgården.
