The Premier League announced, in a statement, that the Premier League will not resume at the beginning of next June, and that the completion of the remaining rounds of the season (2019-2020) is subject to this being safe and appropriate for the matches. This came in a meeting held by the English Football Association Football Association today, to discuss the fate of the stalled competition in the current period, due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.

According to the statement, it was reiterated that the highest priority is to preserve the safety and health of all, including players, coaches, managers, club staff and the public. He added: "There is a common goal, which is to play all the remaining domestic league and cup matches, which enables us to maintain the integrity of each competition. However, any return to play will only be with the full support of the government, and when medical guidance permits this."
