McLaren has become the first Formula 1 team to fire some of its staff due to the coronavirus crisis , while its drivers, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris , and leaders have cut their wages .

The British team explained in a statement that the measures are "focused on protecting jobs in the short term." In this way, Sainz and Norris will see their wages cut, while some factory workers will be fired, although McLaren has not disclosed specific figures or any other information.
