In December 2018, Jörgen Lindgren was fired from the job as CEO of SHL. Michael Marchal took over, as acting CEO of the organization, and became permanent a few months ago.

But now he is soon leaving the job. Today, SHL announced that they have made clear a new CEO. This time there will be a woman on the record.

"Solid experience"

Jenny Silfverstrand, 47, leaves the same job in Djurgården and takes over the league.

- We have been looking for a leader with solid experience and good knowledge of the issues that create the conditions for today's and tomorrow's SHL. Michael Marchal gets a very qualified successor and SHL can build on an organization and orientation that the board and the owners provide the conditions for, ”Anders Källström, chairman of SHL, said in a press release.

“Exciting challenge”

Silfverstrand is looking forward to his new job.

- It is a fun and exciting challenge, together with the organization and the clubs, to take the next step for SHL where I hope to be a driving force in the future development, although there is some uncertainty today due to Covid-19. It is wonderfully inspiring to work with something that engages as many people as ice hockey does and sees that I can contribute with the experiences I have built up from the club and club life in Djurgården, ”says Silfverstrand, who will start his new job this fall.
