In August, after only four months, Jonas Peterson was given the job as national team manager for the national team. Now the ski association has made clear with the current national team manager for biathlon, Anders Byström.

- I am very happy for the year I had biathlon and it is a sport on the way forward that will be exciting to follow. But length is my sport where I can most and I want to be able to contribute there, he says to SVT Sport.

What can you add?

- A secure leadership. I usually feel good about feeling things and being responsive and listening to what is happening. I would say stability and security in leadership.

Byström makes a comeback in the ski association after a year as biathlon manager and he has a solid background in cross-country skiing as a coach at Torsby high school and coach for five years in the Norwegian junior development national team.

"Want to create an organization with good culture"

The headlines have been hailing around the Swedish Ski Federation over the past year. It has been about leaders and walkers who have left and information about dissatisfied riders. In addition, Stina Nilsson, quite unexpectedly, chose to change sports to biathlon.

- Now it's about looking ahead and creating an organization with a good culture. It is a lot of championships going forward and Daniel Fåhraeus and I have very similar thoughts on how we want to do.

What is a good culture for you?

- Much is about communication and talking to each other. I don't know what it's been like, I've only seen the media image of it, but at least I want us to talk a lot together and have a common goal image.

"Think they were surprised"

Byström informed skiers and leaders in the biathlon team yesterday after a quick decision was made in just a few days.

- This has been very much behind the scenes and quite secret because I still work where I do, he says and tells about the meeting with the skiers:

- I think they were surprised, it felt so. It might not have been entirely expected, but I tried to point out that they have very good people around them and that there will be no problems for them.

But you, Stina Nilsson have just stepped over to biathlon, had you not wanted to stay?

- I understand that those thoughts are coming. It will be very exciting with Stina and see how things are going for her, but I must do that remotely now.
