On Monday, Helsinborg held a press conference announcing that the club is going back millions more when the league is at a standstill and that their elite license is in danger.

Team captain Andreas Granqvist has been on a similar situation before. When he returned to the club in 2018, HIF was also in a financial predicament and he chose to play without pay. Something that may be relevant again.

- We'll see what happens, but I'll bring that to the board first. I will do what it takes to make the association feel good, ”he tells Sportbladet.

"Nobody could foresee this"

That something is unexpected now, but Granqvist is nice and that the club can hopefully benefit from having gone through the same situation before.

- No one could have predicted this. It is perhaps an advantage now to have been in this situation before. We have experience on how we should act - players, the city, sponsors and supporters, he says.

Next, the players are probably waiting for short-term leave and more help can be done.

- We have had a dialogue within the squad and want to help as best we can from the team. But we haven't talked about exact figures yet, ”says Granqvist.
