Novak Djokovic follows the example of Roger Federer in the fight against the coronavirus. Nole has donated a million euros to Serbia, as he announced on Friday. "Our donation is for the purchase of life-saving respirators and the purchase of other sanitation equipment," said Djokovic during a video conference organized by his spokespersons in Belgrade.

Nole, who usually lives in Monaco, is currently with his family in Marbella, Spain, where he respects the isolation measures decreed by the authorities. His stay in Spain is "pure coincidence," said his spokesmen. The 32-year-old world number one said he strives to be "positive" about the pandemic and enjoys spending time with his family.

Djoko thanks China

"I am going to post on social networks soon physical exercises that I practice in our apartment," he announced. "Since I became a father, I don't remember spending so much time with my family," added Djokovic, without mentioning the problems linked to tennis.

Novak Djokovic also wished to thank "from the bottom of my heart" China for the help it has given to Serbia, where nearly 460 people were contaminated by Covid-19, of which seven died. In particular, Beijing has dispatched a team of specialists to Serbia to advise the authorities on the measures to be taken to fight the pandemic, as well as three planes full of medical equipment.
