Like many other sports associations and organizations, the Norwegian Ski Association currently has a strained economy. The Corona virus has led to several canceled competitions and now it is also clear that the Norwegian ski association is losing another million contract with one of its grandsons.

- It is true that we do not extend the cooperation agreements with the ski association which we have had for many, many years. This is a decision we made at the end of last year, says Communications Manager Helge Dieset to NRK.

The money from the sponsor has mainly helped with regional investments for riders who have received help with coaches and whaling teams as well as a commitment to the Norwegian sprint national team.

Several riders critical

Håvard Solås Taugbö is one of the riders who participated in the venture and who after that made great achievements in the World Cup this year. Results that made him relevant to the national team for the coming season.

- If it is not a disaster, it is still a big loss for Norwegian cross-country skiing. The investment has enabled them during the national team to have an arrangement with good training and world cup competitions, says Solås Taugbö to NRK.
