The Turkish Boxing Association announced that three of its players were infected with the new Corona virus (Covid-19) who were among the members of the Turkish team participating in the qualifying tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which was held recently in London.

The Turkish Federation said in a statement today, Thursday, that "the boxer Serhat Gular and the trainer, Saifullah Dumlobinar, were exposed to the infection of the new Corona virus, while the name of the third person was not announced."

The British newspaper "The Guardian" revealed the intention of the head of the Turkish Boxing Federation, Ayoub Gusk, to file a complaint with the International Olympic Committee, as well as claiming the costs incurred by the association in the previous period to run the qualifying tournament.
"The injury of the Turkish players is a disastrous consequence of the lack of responsibility of the staff assigned by the International Olympic Committee, they did not think about the health of individuals, which led them to organize this tournament," Juzk said.

"At a time when the entire world was taking strict measures to deal with the virus, I was puzzled as the International Olympic Committee staff and the British government allowed the tournament to begin, even though many of us had concerns about the spread of the virus," said Gocek.

The qualifying tournament, which started in London with the participation of about 350 boxers from 40 countries, stopped after the third day, due to the spread of infection with the Corona virus, before the International Olympic Committee decided to postpone the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to be held next year.
