Athletes who have qualified for the 2020 Olympics will remain qualified for the event postponed in 2021 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to the coronavirus pandemic, AFP learned Thursday from concordant sources.

Some 57% of the 11,000 participants in the Tokyo Olympics have already obtained their qualification and will therefore keep the sesame, whatever the date of postponement of the Games, at the latest in 2021, jointly decided the IOC and the international federations concerned which met by teleconference Thursday.
