On Wednesday evening, the announcement that there is now a central collective agreement that allows sports clubs to short-term players. A welcome message for many clubs struggling with the economy.

"It is very positive for us, I do not want to mention any figures, but it is a pretty big money," says Lennart Ivarsson, CEO of Östersunds FK.

On Thursday afternoon, the Östersund Club decided to lay off all staff including the players.

- The players train for one to two weeks and then they get lucky for two weeks.

- It is not possible to work with sponsorship pouring right now, the community is at a standstill, says Lennart Ivarsson.

21 million before June

Östersunds FK has already faced major financial concerns ahead of the intended season. At the end of February, the club announced that they needed to raise $ 21 million by the beginning of June. The fact that the series start was now postponed due to the corona eruption did not make things better, but Lennart Ivarsson still looks positive.

- Going in the positive direction all the time, we are in better condition now than a couple of weeks ago and better for a couple of weeks ago than a couple of months ago so I look positively at life, says Lennart Ivarsson CEO of Östersunds FK.
