Severely affected by the coronavirus with ten infected people, three of whom were hospitalized, Fiorentina launched a fundraising campaign to help hospitals in Florence and the rest of Italy in which Ribéry contributed 50,000 euros. "I want to thank Ribéry for his donation," said club owner Rocco Commisso. "We have started well, we have already raised 420,000 euros out of a target of 500,000 euros," he added.
Brescia, another club of the Italian elite, for its part confirmed that two of its employees had also tested positive for the Covid-19 disease, which left nearly 3,000 dead in Italy.
