During its meeting today, Thursday, at the Lazo Versace Hotel in Dubai, the Football Association’s General Assembly approved the new Board of Directors of the Football Association headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi unanimously by acclamation, for the new electoral cycle that extends for a period of four years from 2020 to 2024, as it voted on the new list of the Council The federation managed 29 out of 31 clubs, while representatives of Falaj Al-Mualla and Al-Arabi were absent.

The work of the general assembly, which lasted about 30 minutes, started with a call to attend to ensure the completion of the quorum for the holding of the assembly. Then after that, three people from the members of the general assembly were appointed to review the minutes of the association, after which the head of the election committee, Counselor Salem Bahian Al-Amiri, asked the members of the general assembly to vote On the electoral list submitted by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, as the Assembly agreed in turn to unanimously win the list by acclamation headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and read the head of the Election Commission after the names of the winners of the Football Federation elections.

The elections were held according to the new system by means of the consolidated list, as they applied for the elections, while the President of the Elections Committee announced that, according to the Articles of Association of the Football Association, the head of the Professional League, Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, would become the first vice-president of the Football Association.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi, President of the Federation, thanked him during a speech before the General Assembly after his election as President of the Federation, during which he thanked the rational leadership for its unlimited support for sport in general and football in particular, as well as both the Transitional Committee for its conduct of the Union's work during the last period for a period 90 days, the General Assembly of the Federation and the General Secretariat of the Football Association, as well as the Committee of the Committee overseeing the elections.

For his part, Chairman of the Election Commission, Counselor Salem Bahyan Al-Amri, revealed during his speech before the Assembly that the electoral process was devoid of any challenges, whether in relation to the candidate for the position of President of the Federation or membership of the Board of Directors, pointing out that the elections went smoothly.

During the General Assembly session, a film was shown showing the manner in which the electoral process took place, starting with the formation of two committees, one to supervise the elections and another to appeal the electoral process and ending with the submission of applications for candidacy for the position of President of the Federation and membership of the Board of Directors.

It is expected that the new board of directors will hold its first meeting next week to distribute administrative positions and tasks.
