The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed that its Delegate Committee has approved on Wednesday the proposal to suspend for two weeks all non-professional football and futsal matches at the state level, after the measures dictated by the Government to prevent the extension of the coronavirus

The RFEF has recommended the territorial federations to support this measure and has invited LaLiga, the Association of Professional Footballers , the National Futsal Commission and the players' associations of the latter to join the monitoring commission created in the situation and which met today urgently.

The measures approved "before the evaluation of the new situation and in accordance with articles 4, 5 and 42 3a) of the Statutes", include that all matches of football competitions are suspended from today and for a period of two weeks and state non-professional futsal.

The RFEF recommends that the territorial federations proceed in the same way with the autonomous parties in all disciplines and in all categories or that "adopt the decision they deem most appropriate depending on the circumstances in each territory and always and in any case , in agreement with the health and sports authorities of each Autonomous Community ".

"This decision is taken because from the RFEF we must guarantee the homogeneity of football competitions, integrity and the necessary competitive balance, and since it has been found that there is a real impossibility to play football matches and develop training in certain cities and / or territories of our country, "said the body chaired by Luis Rubiales.

In a statement, he explained that "these decisions will be subject to the changes that we are advised at all times from the health and sports authorities" and added that he will keep the proposals on the possible change of dates for the Copa del Rey finals and the Queen's Cup, as well as the matches of the absolute selection.

The RFEF will also "invite the LNFP to join the Monitoring Commission to evaluate jointly and in coordination, as provided by current legislation, the changes that will be necessary to make in professional competitions", as with the Commission National Futsal, the AFE union and the associations of players and futsal players "so they can join the work and monitoring group".

"Any future decision will also be made to the Delegate Commission or to the competent body contemplating that in this commission we will be prepared to respond to Spanish football in any scenario," he added.
