Neither Albin Ekdal, Ken Sema, Dejan Kulusevski, Robin Olsen, Riccardo Gagliolo nor Mattias Svanberg who play in Serie A in Italy will be in the upcoming national team gatherings, the football association now announces. That after the country has been quarantined due to the Corona virus.

On the women's side, Linda Sembrandt is already stopped from the national team.

- The decision made is a comprehensive assessment of all information we have from authorities and experts. This applies to all national teams and not just the men's national team, says national team manager Stefan Pettersson.

In addition to Italy, several countries, including Spain, have chosen to play in front of empty doctors. But at present, the Swedish Football Association chooses to only stop players playing in Italy.

- Is there anything that authorities in, for example, Spain or here at home, it is clear that we are following it. Then you know for yourself how quickly things happen where decisions are made by different unions and authorities.

Ekdal: "Looks dark"

Albin Ekdal, who plays in Sampdoria, yesterday expressed in an interview with "Studio One" in Sweden's Radio a concern about this summer's European playoffs.

- It feels very uncertain about the European Championships right now when city after city and country after country get corona sick people, says Ekdal in "Studio One".

- It looks dark unfortunately, but football must obviously come in second hand. We hope that the countries get organized on this and hope that everyone takes their personal responsibility so that we can try to eradicate this disease, so that we can play European Championships and life can be as usual again.
