The reigning Stanley Cup champions in St. Louis have been up to speed recently. Prior to tonight's game against New Jersey, which will miss the spring playoffs, they had eight straight wins.

Few thought the suite would be broken tonight. Partly because New Jersey has nothing but the honor to play for, and partly because New Jersey had not won against St. Louis in twelve games (the most recent victory came on January 21, 2014).

Bratt's 100th goal

Despite that, it was New Jersey's victory. The home team won by 4-2, after Swedish Jesper Bratt started the goal shooter almost halfway into the first period. Bratt got the puck at the center line, went into the offensive zone and sprinkled a quick wicket from close range. The goal was his 100th NHL, in 183 matches.

St Louis is leading the Western Conference despite the loss, and is aiming to start a new victory suite.

- We need to move up. Sad that the suite is broken in this way, but it's probably just to start working on a new one, says Oskar Sundqvist to Aftonbladet.
