Today, Saturday, the Paraguayan judiciary ordered that ex-Brazilian football star Ronaldinho Gaucho be kept in prison.

The Barcelona striker and the former Brazil national were arrested on Friday for trying to enter Paraguay with a false passport two days earlier, and he spent last night in a cell with his brother and business manager Roberto Assis.

The duo filed a request for their release, but Judge Clara Ruiz Diaz said their alleged crime was "serious and against the interests of the Paraguayan state".

The judge added that the two brothers were a danger to flights, so they should be kept in detention.

Ronaldinho's lawyer, Tariq Toma, said the decision was "unbelievable" and would be appealed against, adding to reporters, "He (Ronaldinho) ... does not understand what is happening."
